    Good Afternoon, Somersham District Members –

     
    Here is our weekly summary of offences and incidents affecting your community, reported to police during the period 24th January to 1st February:

     
    Chatteris Road, Somersham – Four people with two dogs and an off-road vehicle were reported to be hare-coursing on land off Chatteris Road on Wednesday afternoon, 27th January. The vehicle had driven across the fields, leaving deep tyre tracks in the surface. The incident was linked to several other hare-coursing occurrences across the County reported that day. (Ref CC-27012021-0344)

     
    Somersham – Police received reports of cold-callers trying to sell items door-to-door in Somersham on Thursday, 28th January. One of the cold-callers was female, and a suspicious white van had also been seen parked nearby. (Refs CC-28012021-0472 and CC-28012021-0472)

     
    Long Drove, Somersham – Police and the Fire Brigade were called to a car on fire on Long Drove on Sunday afternoon, 31st January. No-one was reported to have been hurt, and the fire was thought to have started due to an electrical fault. (Ref CC-31012021-0301)

     
    Colne Road, Somersham – Fire, police and ambulance crews were called to an incident on Colne Road on Monday evening, 1st February, in which a car left the road and crashed into a water-filled ditch. One person was cut free by the Fire Brigade and taken to hospital with what is believed to be a serious injury. Recovery services pulled the damaged car out of the ditch and towed it away whilst police attempted to trace details of the registered owner. (Ref CC-01022021-0459)
