A further six e-scooters seized in Peterborough city centre |
||||
Dear Resident,
A further six e-scooters were seized by our city centre neighbourhood officers last week!
It has been great to hear such positive feedback about the work we have been doing to tackle the anti-social riding of e-scooters in Peterborough city centre.
We gave words of advice and educated those we spoke to about the laws around e-scooters.
Here’s the reminder of the laws⬇ 🛴They are classed as motor vehicles, which means to legally use one, you need the correct licence, insurance and tax. Riding without this could result in being given a Fixed Penalty Notice (FPN) and points on your licence.
🛴It is not currently possible to get insurance for privately owned e-scooters in the UK, meaning it is illegal to use them on a public road or in public spaces. If you own an e-scooter, you can only legally use it on private land with permission of the landowner.
You can report any concerns or information about the anti-social use of e-scooters on our website.
Kind regards, | ||||
