    Alert message sent 27/01/2021 12:23:00

Information sent on behalf of Cambridgeshire Constabulary

Good Afternoon, The Hemingfords District Members –

Here is our weekly summary of offences and incidents affecting your community, reported to police during the period 20th to 26th January:

Rogue’s Lane, Hilton – Fire, police and ambulance crews were called to an incident on Rogue’s Lane on Wednesday morning, 20th January, where a car had left the road and rolled onto its side into a ditch. Fortunately no-one was seriously hurt although one person was taken to hospital with minor injuries. (Ref CC-20012021-0062)

Grove Lane, Hemingford Grey – Police are investigating an incident that happened on Grove Lane on Thursday afternoon, 21st January, in which a dog being walked by its owner was attacked by another dog which ran out from a nearby garden. The victim’s dog suffered severe injuries and the victim was scared that they would also be attacked. (Ref 35/4027/21)

The Thorpe, Hemingford Grey – An iron garden gate at a house on The Thorpe was damaged at some time between Saturday 23rd and Tuesday 26th January. The top of the gate was found to have been bent, as if someone had stood on it to climb over, although no other damage or offences were discovered. (Ref 35/4831/21)

    Reports of Covid-19 Regulation Breaches:

Officers are out on patrol across the County day and night responding to reports of Covid-19 breaches.

Paying rule-breakers a visit could cause delay in officers reaching people who really need their help. Thank you once again to all the wonderful people in our community who are keeping to the rules, and our appreciation to the army of other key workers out there doing an amazing job.

In the St Ives District, police have continued to respond to reports of potential breaches of the Covid-19 Regulations this week, including:

    • A gym found to be continuing to operate. (Ref CC-22012021-0222)

    • A person believed to have travelled from Scotland to stay with friends in St Ives. (Ref CC-22012021-0222)

    • Customers reportedly being admitted to a shop without wearing face masks. (Ref CC-22012021-0479)
