    Good Afternoon, Upwood and The Raveleys District Members –

     
    Here is our weekly summary of offences and incidents affecting your community, reported to police during the period 7th to 15th December:

     
    Wennington – Police arrested the driver of a articulated lorry on a drink-driving charge after he crashed his vehicle into a ditch near Wennington on Monday afternoon, 7th December. The road was closed for a time whilst recovery services towed the lorry out of the ditch. (Ref CC-07122020-0328)

     
    Bath Crescent, Wyton-on-the-Hill – Police received two reports of youths without helmets riding a motor-cycle at speed along a footpath parallel with Bath Crescent on Wednesday afternoon, 9th December. Officers searched the area and came across three youths with a bike, but who denied being involved in the incidents. Nevertheless, officers gave words of advice. (Refs CC-09122020-0189 and CC-09122020-0192)

     
    Wennington – Intruders entered a workshop at a farm in Wennington and stole a quantity of tools from inside, at some time overnight on Wednesday 9th / Thursday 10th December. They also tried to take a quad bike. Scenes-of-crime officers have attended the location as part of the investigation. (Ref 35/83572/20)

     
    Great Raveley / Wistow – Police were called to the Great Raveley to Wistow road on Friday evening, 11th December, following a report of two males seen trying to flag down a motorist and a car seen crashed into a field on a z-bend. Fortunately no-one was hurt and the owners were able to arrange their own recovery. Officers attached ‘Police Aware’ stickers to the car until recovery was completed. (Ref CC-11122020-0390)

     
    High Street, Upwood – Police responded to a report of four males seen behaving suspiciously on Upwood High Street on Friday evening, 11th December. The males were seen walking up and down the street, looking at houses. Officers located the group and after speaking to them were satisfied that there was nothing untoward. (Ref CC-11122020-0436)

     
    Wennington – A farm in Wennington was targeted by thieves for a second night on Friday 11th / Saturday 12th December, when intruders broke into a storage container, carried out an untidy search and stole a large quantity of materials and power tools from inside. Scenes-of-crime officers have attended. (Ref 35/83990/20)

     
    Norfolk Road, Wyton-on-the-Hill – Unknown vandals used a fence post to smash the rear window of a black Ford car left parked in a residential car-park on Norfolk Road at some time overnight on Friday 11th / Saturday 12th December. The fence post was left protruding from the broken window. (Ref 35/84025/20)

     
    Wennington – A Royal Mail post-box is reported to have been removed and stolen from its site in Wennington. Police were notified of the theft on Saturday afternoon, 12th December. (Ref CC-12122020-0273)

     
    Wennington / Abbots Ripton – Police were called to an incident on the Wennington to Abbots Ripton Road on Tuesday evening, 15th December, where a car had left the road on a bend and ended up on its roof in a ditch. Fortunately no-one was hurt and the driver was able to arrange their own recovery. (Ref CC-15122020-0362)
