  • Weekly Policing Update - Somersham District

    Alert message sent 29/11/2019 16:01:00

Information sent on behalf of Cambridgeshire Constabulary

Good Afternoon, Somersham District Members –

Here is our weekly summary of offences and incidents affecting your community, reported to police during the period 19th to 28th November – we’re back to our traditional Friday publication day now, so a slightly longer period is covered this week.

East Street, Colne – There was a break-in and burglary at a house under construction at East Street, Colne, on Friday evening, 22nd November. A suspicious red estate car was seen driving without lights on the track leading to the house, and when police arrived it was confirmed that a break-in had happened. A hole was found to have been cut in a boundary fence and rear patio doors at the property had been broken. Items including a log-burning stove, a hob, a sink unit and an electric drill were stolen. It is thought that the thieves were disturbed by a barking dog and fled the scene, driving off in the red estate car in an unknown direction. (Ref CC-22112019-0453)

Fenton Road, Fenton – Police searched the area along the B1040 between Warboys and Pidley on Saturday morning, 23rd November, following a report of hare-coursers seen operating on land near Fenton Road, Fenston. Two men with three dogs had been seen on the fields, heading towards Pidley, but no vehicle had been noticed. However, officers were unable to find the men or any suspicious vehicle. (Ref CC-23112019-0107)
