  • Weekly Policing Update - Earith and Needingworth District

    Alert message sent 21/02/2021 11:34:00

Information sent on behalf of Cambridgeshire Constabulary

Good Afternoon, Earith and Needingworth District Members –

Here is our weekly summary of offences and incidents affecting your community, reported to police during the period 13th to 20th February:

The Furlongs, Needingworth – Police received a call reporting cold-callers knocking on doors at The Furlongs and elsewhere in Needingworth on Friday evening, 19th February, enquiring about cavity wall insulation. Although the callers had identification badges, residents felt that they were rather abrupt and suspicions were aroused. Police confirmed that the company they worked for appeared legitimate, but they had moved away from the area by the time the report was received. (Ref CC-19022021-0331)

Rectory Road, Bluntisham – A pair of vehicle number plates were found discarded on the pavement on Rectory Road, Bluntisham, on Saturday morning, 20th February. They were later collected by police after checks had been made on the vehicle that they belonged to. (Ref CC-20022021-0155)

And Finally – Police Survey on the Use of Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) Systems:

Cambridgeshire Police are running a survey to get the public’s views on the use of ANPR systems in the County.

ANPR is used to alert officers to stolen vehicles, vehicles involved in crime, or to help locate missing people. The data they collect can also be used in investigations. You can help shape the future of ANPR by anonymously completing the survey and sharing your views at the following link:
