Wyton – Police received a call from a Wyton resident on Tuesday 9th July, reporting that she had received a scam telephone call from someone purporting to be a police officer in Hampshire Constabulary who asked her to disclose her bank account details. Fortunately the victim realised this was an attempted fraud and refused, whereupon the caller became abusive.
An officer was able to visit the victim to provide reassurance and advice on cyber-crime, and explain measures on how to protect yourself on-line.
