Good Afternoon, Upwood and The Raveleys District Members –
Here is our weekly summary of offences and incidents affecting your community, reported to police during the period 4th to 10th January:
Meadow Lane, Upwood – Police were notified of suspicious items left dumped in the Nature Reserve car-park on Meadow Lane, Upwood, on Friday morning, 4th January. The items, including documents, a set of number plates and an item of jewellery, were collected by police for examination in case they had been dumped after being taken in a burglary or other crime. (Ref CC-04012019-0178)
Walton Hill, Woodwalton – Police and an ambulance were called to an incident on Walton Hill, Woodwalton, on Friday afternoon, 4th January, where a single car had left the road at a double bend. Paramedics attended to minor injuries to two passengers but vehicle recovery services were not required. (Ref CC-04012019-0329)
High Street, Upwood – Thieves broke in to a detached garage and a barn at a house on High Street, Upwood, during the night of Friday 4th / Saturday 5th January. Locks on the outbuildings were forced and items from inside, including a power drill, were stolen.
Canberra Road, Upwood – Police seized and towed away a white van from Canberra Road, Upwood, late on Saturday evening, 5th January, when checks showed that it had no valid licence or insurance. (Ref CC-05012019-0422)
Ailwine Road, Upwood – A wooden Christmas tree planter pot and a child’s bicycle were stolen from outside a house on Ailwine Road, Upwood, during the night of Sunday 6th / Monday 7th January. The planter pot had been left by the front door of the house and the new purple bicycle had been left in the back garden. At the moment no-one has reported noticing anything suspicious in the area at the time. (Ref 35/1407/19)
Sawtry Way, Wyton-on-the-Hill – Police seized and towed away a silver van from Sawtry Way, Wyton-on-the-Hill, on Thursday evening, 10th January, when checks showed that it was unroadworthy and had no valid insurance. (Ref CC-10012019-0448)
