Good morning readers,
For those of you that have not seen my blog before, this is where I tell where I have been and what I have been up within your area over the last month. It may seem that I have not mentioned your particular area or village, which does not mean that I have not visited or taken you into account, it means that you have been able to live in relative peace and quiet for the last month in terms of crime and Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB).
In response to the enquiries we have had with regards the fires last month, our Crime Prevention Officer – Clare Darbyshire has been holding surgeries within the village in order for the residents to come and talk to us. We are holding another next week at the Co-op, date yet to be confirmed. Please look out for our event on our Facebook page page.
A couple of weeks ago, there was a theft of a jet washer and a scaffolding tower from a building site on Gidding Road. If you have any information regarding this incident, please all 101 or Crime Stoppers. Any information is treated with confidentiality and is vital to all our investigations.
There has been a spate of criminal damage to vehicles in the area, not just in Sawtry and we are urging the public to be vigilant and report anything suspicious.
On my daily patrols through the village I have noticed the state of Gidding Road and how dirty it is with all the lorries going in and out of the new estate. I ask that drivers use caution when coming into the village from the direction of The Giddings, especially now it is getting darker earlier and the weather has turned causing the road to become slippery and lots of sludgy spray onto the windscreen.
Stats – 3 reports of ASB nuisance; 1 report of suspicious activity; 1 report of poaching; 1 report of arson; 4 reports of vehicle nuisance, and 4 reports of cause for concern/missing.
Please come along and see us at our next surgery.
Many thanks for your continued support, Be safe out there.
