    Alert message sent 13/01/2021 14:48:00

Information sent on behalf of Cambridgeshire Constabulary

Good Afternoon, The Hemingfords District Members –

    Covid-19 National Lockdown Reminder:

    Advice from HM Government –

Don’t Forget – Around 1 in 3 people who have the virus have no symptoms and could be spreading it without realising. Follow the rules:

“Stay Home – Protect the NHS – Save Lives”

    And

    “Hands – Face – Space”

Full details are on the Government web-site:

    https://www.gov.uk/coronavirus

Meanwhile, here is our weekly summary of offences and incidents affecting your community, reported to police during the period 6th to 12th January:

Apple Orchard, Hemingford Grey – Thieves stole the front number-plate from a BMW car whilst it was left parked outside its owner’s house on Apple Orchard at some time between Sunday 3rd and Wednesday 6th January. (Ref 35/1091/21)

Mill Street, Houghton – Police received a report of a large number of cars visiting Houghton on Sunday afternoon, 10th January, causing congestion around Mill Street and The Green and possibly breaching Covid-19 regulations if people meet up for walks. Unfortunately there is little that police can do if no parking offences are being committed and without fuller details, as people are still allowed to travel locally for their daily exercise. (Ref CC-10012021-0248)

St Ives Road, Papworth Everard – Police were called to a collision between two vans on St Ives Road on Monday morning, 11th January. Fortunately no-one was reported to be injured but both vehicles needed to be recovered and officers were needed to clear debris from the road and manage traffic around the incident. (Ref CC-11012021-0040)

Houghton Hill – Police seized and towed away a black Vauxhall car found parked in a layby on Houghton Hill on Monday night, 11th January, when checks showed that it had no valid insurance or road tax. (Ref CC-12012021-0001)
