    Good Afternoon, Ramsey District Members –

     
    Here is our weekly summary of offences and incidents affecting your community, reported to police during the period 7th to 15th December:

     
    Blenheim Road, Ramsey – A police patrol came across two youths damaging a car in a car-park on Blenheim Road late on Monday evening, 7th December. Officers stopped to give chase and managed to catch up with the suspects, one of whom threatened an officer with a knife. An axe and a knife were later found discarded on the ground nearby and both suspects were detained. The damaged car was towed away by recovery services and investigations are continuing.     The Avenue, Ramsey – A thief smashed the window of a van left parked on The Avenue on Wednesday evening, 9th December, and stole a mobile phone that had been left on the seat. Police hope that the crime may have been recorded on CCTV. (Ref 35/83446/20)

     
    Great Whyte – An opportunistic thief stole a set of house keys in an envelope that had been left outside an estate agent’s on Great Whyte on Thursday afternoon, 10th December. The keys had only been left for a few moments but in that time the thief took the opportunity to steal them. (Ref 35/83588/20)

     
    Hopbine Court, Ramsey – Two suspects were interrupted trying to remove the catalytic converter from a Vauxhall car left parked on the driveway outside its owner’s house on Hopbine Court, at around 8:30 pm on Thursday evening, 10th December. When challenged, the two made off, driving away in a dark blue saloon car. (Ref 35/83772/20)

     
    Hollow Road, Ramsey Forty Foot – Police searched the area around Ramsey Forty Foot looking for suspected hare-coursers in a silver vehicle, possible a Subaru, following a report of two men with dogs seen on land off Hollow Road on Sunday afternoon, 13th December. The vehicle was last seen heading off towards Chatteris but unfortunately police were unable to locate it. (Ref CC-13122020-0198)

     
    Benwick – Police apprehended three males suspected of hare-coursing in Benwick on Tuesday 15th December. The suspects tried to evade officers by pulling into a driveway, but only succeeded in becoming trapped when police blocked the entrance. The car was seized and the three were issued with Dispersal Notices and Community Protection Warnings. (Policing Huntingdonshire Facebook Page)
