    Good Afternoon, Somersham District Members –

     
    Here is our weekly summary of offences and incidents affecting your community, reported to police during the period 30th November to 6th December:

     
    Church Street, Somersham – Thieves stole a kissing gate in Church Street after lifting it off its hinges at some time overnight on Saturday 28th / Sunday 29th November. A nearby barbed wire fence was also damaged. (Ref 35/81642/20)

     
    Broughton – Thieves stole two galvanised metal gates from a farm in Broughton after cutting them from their hinges, at some time overnight on Sunday 29th / Monday 30th November. (Ref 35/81684/20)

     
    Somersham Road, Wood Hurst – Two people were taken to hospital with minor injuries following a collision involving two cars and a lorry on the B1040 Somersham Road on Tuesday morning, 1st December. The road was closed for a time whilst the emergency services dealt with the situation. (Ref CC-01122020-0074)

     
    Pidley – Police pursued a blue Subaru four-by-four after four persons with two dogs were seen hare-coursing on fields near Pidley on Thursday morning, 3rd December. The Subaru was later found abandoned with two flat tyres on a farm track and was seized and towed away. (Ref CC-03122020-0055)

     
    St Ives Road, Old Hurst – Someone removed three drainpipes from the side of a house on St Ives Road, Old Hurst, at some time overnight on Friday 4th / Saturday 5th December. The pipes were left lying on the ground nearby. (Ref 35/82445/20)

     
    Pidley Sheep Lane – Police were called to a three-car collision on Pidley Sheep Lane on Sunday morning, 6th December. One car had driven into the back of a second car, shunting it forward into a parked car. Fortunately no-one was reported injured. (Ref CC-06122020-0164)
     
     
    And Finally – Covid Restrictions over Christmas:
     
    The Tier-2 Restrictions that now cover the whole of Cambridgeshire will be relaxed over the Christmas period from 23rd to 27th December. During these 5 days it will be possible to form a ‘Christmas Bubble’ made up of a limited number of friends and family.

    There are three main rules about Christmas Bubbles:
     
    • You can only be in one Christmas Bubble;
       
    • You cannot change your Christmas Bubble;
       
    • Your Christmas Bubble must not include people from more than 3 households.
