Information sent on behalf of Cambridgeshire Constabulary

Good Afternoon, Warboys and Bury District Members –

Here is our weekly summary of offences and incidents affecting your community, reported to police during the period 30th November to 6th December:

Broughton – Thieves stole two galvanised metal farm gates after lifting them from their hinges, at some time overnight on Sunday 29th / Monday 30th November. (Ref 35/81692/20)

Owls End, Bury – Police received a report of an attempted telephone fraud from a resident of Owls End, Bury, on Monday 30th November. The victim received a call from a person pretending to be a police officer from London who said that they had a person in custody with several stolen credit cards, one of which belonged to the victim. Fortunately, the victim became suspicious when the caller told them not to tell anyone about it, realised that it was an attempted scam and put the phone down without giving any information. (Ref CC-30112020-0151)

Puddock Road, Warboys – A male with two dogs and a very muddy vehicle was seen hare-coursing on fields off Puddock Road on Tuesday afternoon, 1st December. The vehicle was last seen heading at speed along Puddock Road towards Warboys, overtaking two cars in quick succession. (Ref CC-01122020-0255)

Cross Drove, Wistow – A black Nissan four-by-four suspected of hare-coursing was seen driving across fields near Cross Drove on Friday morning, 4th December. A police patrol searched the area but was unable to find the suspect vehicle. (Ref CC-04122020-0140)

Throckmorton, Warboys – A cold-caller selling household items door-to-door was seen to urinate on the garden fence of a house on Throckmorton, Warboys, on Friday afternoon, 4th December. When the householder remonstrated with him from inside the property, the suspect gesticulated aggressively and shouted, causing the victim to be alarmed and intimidated. Police are looking at CCTV footage as part of the investigation. (Ref 35/82313/20)
