    Good Afternoon, Somersham District Members –

     
    Here is our weekly summary of offences and incidents affecting your community, reported to police during the period 16th to 23rd November:

     
    Covid Regulations – Police have responded to reports of possible Covid Regulation breaches across Huntingdonshire in the last week. Officers are making regular patrols in the towns and villages to ensure that lockdown regulations are being complied with.

     
    Wheatsheaf Road, Woodhurst – Police searched the area around Woodhurst on Wednesday lunchtime, 18th November, following sightings of three males with a lurcher dog suspected of hare-coursing on land off Wheatsheaf Road. Two suspicious vehicles were also reported. Unfortunately, no trace of the suspects could be found. (Refs CC-18112020-0169 and CC-18112020-0220)

     
    Warner’s Drove, Somersham - Two males in a black four-by-four were spotted hare-coursing with dogs on land near Ramsey on Saturday morning, 21st November. The same vehicle was later spotted on fields near Warner’s Drove, Somersham, where three males and a dog were sighted. A police patrol stopped the vehicle, seized the car and issued a Community Protection Warning and a Dispersal Notice to two suspects who were ordered to leave the area.     Police Appeal for Witnesses:
     
    Police are still appealing for witnesses following the fatal collision on the A1123 at Houghton Hill, Wyton, at around 1:30pm on Wednesday 11th November, in which a blue Vauxhall Corsa collided with a cyclist.

    Anyone who saw the collision, or the car or cyclist in the moments leading up to it, is asked to contact the police using the 101 non-emergency number or the reporting tool on the police web-site, quoting Incident 207 of 11th November.
