Information sent on behalf of Cambridgeshire Constabulary

Good Afternoon, Ramsey District Members –

Here is our weekly summary of offences and incidents affecting your community, reported to police during the period 25th October to 1st November:

Ramsey – Police have received reports of a motorbike with no lights being ridden at speed around the town centre at night on several recent occasions. On one recent Friday night (16th October), the bike was ridden across a zebra crossing at high speed, and pedestrians reported nearly being hit by it. Council CCTV operators were asked to keep a lookout for it. (Ref CC-16102020-0454)

Neil Way, Ramsey – A Community Resolution was given to a person found in possession of a small amount of cannabis in a car parked up on Neil Way in the early hours of Monday morning, 26th October. (Ref 35/72822/20)

Muchwood Lane – There was a collision between a car and a minibus on Muchwood Lane on Wednesday evening, 28th October. Fortunately no-one was hurt although the road was blocked for a short time. (Ref CC-28102020-0332)

Ramsey – A Ramsey resident reported a suspicious phone call on Friday 30th October. The caller stated they represented an energy company, but then went on to ask a lot of intrusive questions and to arrange an appointment to come and carry out a survey, at which point the resident became concerned. Fortunately, police were able to drop by and provide reassurance and advice. (Ref CC-30102020-0416)

    Police Appeals for Information:

    Assault in Ramsey:

I am repeating this appeal from last week, as the picture of the suspects was not initially included on the web-site – my thanks to the Ecops subscriber who pointed this out to me, well spotted! The picture has now been put up – if you recognise the suspects, the police would very much like to hear from you.

Police are appealing for information following an assault that happened outside The Jolly Sailor pub in Ramsey on Wednesday morning, 14th October, in which one of the victims was knocked unconscious.
