Meanwhile, normal policing work continues. Here is our weekly summary of offences and incidents affecting your community, reported to police during the period 17th to 23rd March:
A1307 (Old A14) Hemingford Grey – Police, fire and ambulance crews were called to an incident on the A1307 near Hemingford Grey on Thursday lunchtime, 19th March, where a single car had left the carriageway and collided with a tree. One person was reported to have serious but not life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital whilst the damaged car was recovered and towed away. (Ref CC-19032020-0159)
Grove Lane, Hemingford Grey – Police arrested a person on suspicion of possession with intent to supply drugs after discovering a quantity of cannabis and packets of a white powder substance at an address on Grove Lane, Hemingford Grey, on Friday morning, 20th March. A number of power tools, thought to be stolen goods, were also discovered in an adjacent caravan (Refs 35/20481/20 and 35/20524/20)
London Road, St Ives – Police are appealing for information following a robbery at a shop on London Road, St Ives, that happened at around 7:20 pm on Sunday evening, 22nd March. Two suspects wearing hooded tops and face coverings entered the shop and threatened the assistant, making him hand over £600 in cash from the till at knife-point. They also stole £2,000.00 worth of cigarettes and a bottle of wine, before leaving on foot.

Dunnock Way, St Ives – Police searched two persons behaving suspiciously at a play-ground on Dunnock Way, St Ives, on Sunday evening, 22nd March, and a small bag of herbal cannabis was discovered. Investigations are continuing. (Ref 35/21016/20)
London Road, St Ives – Police seized and towed away a green Vauxhall car found on London Road in the early hours of Monday morning, 23rd March, when checks showed that it had no valid insurance. (Ref CC-23032020-0009)
