Meanwhile, normal policing work continues. Here is our weekly summary of offences and incidents affecting your community, reported to police during the period 13th to 20th March:
Puddock Road, Warboys – Thieves unhitched and stole an Ifor Williams multi-axle trailer from Puddock Road, Warboys, on Saturday afternoon, 14th March. The trailer had been attached to its towing vehicle and disappeared at between 1:30 pm and 3:30 pm. (Ref 35/19100/20)
Orchard Close, Warboys – A white Ford car was stolen from the driveway of its owner’s house on Orchard Close, Warboys, at sometime between Friday and Saturday evenings, 13th and 14th March. (Ref 35/19183/20)
Broughton – Thieves came into the stable yard of a farm in Broughton at some time overnight on Sunday 15th / Monday 16th March, entered a storage building and stole a number of items after searching inside and moving things around. Full details of what was taken are not known at the moment. (Ref 35/19480/20)
A141 High Fen straight Drove – A police patrol came across a car crashed into a telegraph pole on the side of the A141 at High Fen Straight Drove on Sunday evening, 15th March. The pole was broken but there was no sign of anyone in or near the car, a black Seat. Police arranged for recovery of the car and for a BT engineer to assess the damage to the pole. A141 Pidley Roundabout, Warboys – Police received a report of the sound of revving car engines and squealing brakes thought to come from the A141 near the Pidley roundabout at Warboys on Tuesday evening, 17th March. No vehicles had been seen and no other details were available, and the noises were expected to stop shortly in accordance with experience on previous nights, so no further action was required, however the Neighbourhood Policing Team have been made aware. A141 Heath Road, Warboys – Police and an ambulance attended an incident on Heath Road, Warboys, on Wednesday lunchtime involving a collision between three motorcycles. One person was reported to have been slightly hurt and all three bikes were taken away by recovery services. (Ref CC-18032020-0156)
High Street, Warboys – Police were called to Warboys High Street in the early hours of Thursday morning, 19th March, where a car had collided with a parked van. Fortunately no-one was reported to have been hurt. However, the car was subsequently found broken down on the A141 near RAF Wyton and police had to attend to move it off the carriageway to safety. And Finally – Knife Crime Crackdown:
Cambridgeshire Police will be taking part in a national knife crime prevention operation next week, aimed at taking weapons off the street and including a ‘knife amnesty’ where knives can be handed in without fear of prosecution.
