Good Afternoon, Warboys and Bury District Members –
Here is our weekly summary of offences and incidents affecting your community, reported to police during the period 17th to 23rd January:
Canberra Road, Upwood – Thieves stole a trailer from the front drive of a house on Canberra Road, Upwood, at some time early on Friday 17th January. The trailer was fitted with wheel locks, but these were also taken along with the trailer. At the moment, no-one has reported noticing anything suspicious in the area at the time. (Ref 35/4237/20)
RAF Upwood – Police received a report of a large number of people and approximately 20 cars trespassing on the disused RAF Upwood site, on Sunday afternoon, 19th January. People had been seen climbing over the derelict buildings and up onto roofs, and putting themselves at risk. A police patrol was dispatched and officers spoke to some of those found on the site, explaining the dangers. (Ref CC-19012020-0208)
A141, Warboys – Police, fire and ambulance crews were called to an incident at the roundabout on the A141 at Warboys on Sunday afternoon, 19th January, where a single car had collided with a road-sign and a lamp-post. Fortunately no-one was seriously hurt, and recovery services were able to tow the damaged car away once it was safe to do so, as smoke or steam had been seen coming from the vehicle immediately after the collision. (Ref CC-19012020-0310)
Puddock Road, Warboys – Police stopped a suspicious car on Puddock Road, Warboys, on Monday afternoon, 20th January, and carried out a search of the vehicle and the two occupants. A large quantity of cash and several wraps of suspected drugs were discovered. Both suspects were arrested for being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs, and the vehicle and all drugs and cash were seized. Investigations are continuing. (Ref 35/4998/20)
Ramsey Road, Warboys – A police patrol came across a collision between two cars on Ramsey Road, Warboys, on Tuesday morning, 21st January. It appeared that a car had run into a parked vehicle, turning over onto its roof. Fortunately no-one was reported to have been hurt, and recovery services were called to deal with the damaged vehicles. It is thought that dazzle from the setting sun may have contributed to the cause of the incident. (Ref CC-21012020-0095)
