Here is our weekly summary of offences and incidents affecting your community, reported to police during the period 2nd to 8th July.
New Road, Hemingford Abbots – Police arrested a suspect for possession of Class B drugs, found in a car parked up in a field gateway on New Road, Hemingford Abbots, late on Tuesday evening, 2nd July. (Ref 35/46800/19)
Limes Park Road, St Ives – A quantity of lead was stolen from a bin storage area on Limes Court Road, St Ives, at some time between Monday 1st and Wednesday 3rd July. (Ref 35/47116/19)
Potton Road, Hilton – Police received a report of a suspicious incident that happened at a house on Potton Road, Hilton, on Wednesday afternoon, 3rd July, in which a cold-caller was seen to interfere with a security camera, possibly after noticing a desirable car left parked on the driveway. The concern was that the suspect might have been intending to return later to commit a burglary or other crime. (Ref CC-03072019-0469)
Potton Road, Hilton – Police and an ambulance were called to a collision between a car and a lorry on Potton Road, Hilton, on Thursday afternoon, 4th July. Paramedics checked one person with a minor injury at the scene, and the road was clear again when recovery services towed the damaged car away. (Ref CC-04072019-0359)
Church Lane, Hemingford Abbots – Police received a report that intruders had entered St Margaret’s Church on Church Lane, Hemingford Abbots, on Friday evening, 5th July. A lock on the vestry door was broken and the room entered, but nothing is thought to have been stolen. (Ref 35/47914/19)
Church Lane, Hemingford Abbots – A thief entered a house on Church Lane, Hemingford Abbots, via a downstairs window at some time overnight on Friday 5th / Saturday 6th July and stole one item before leaving through an open doorway. (Ref 35/47840/19)
