Good Afternoon, Warboys and Bury District Members –
Here is our weekly summary of offences and incidents affecting your community, reported to police during the period 16th to 23rd November:
Cross Drove, Warboys – Police received a report of three men with dogs and an off-road vehicle suspected of hare-coursing on land at Cross Drove, Warboys, on Friday morning, 16th November. The vehicle had been seen leaving the area and heading towards Chatteris. Police issued an alert to Countryside Watch so that their members could be notified. (Ref CC-16112018-0140)
Humberdale Way, Warboys – The back window of a red Vauxhall car was smashed at some time between 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm on Sunday 18th November, whilst it was parked on Humberdale Way, Warboys. The car was not broken into and nothing was taken from inside. (Ref 35/45982/18)
Humberdale Way, Warboys – Damage to some of the tiles on the roof of a community building on Humberdale Way, Warboys, was discovered on Sunday evening, 18th November. No one has so far reported seeing anything suspicious at the location at the time although a group of young people had been seen in the vicinity earlier in the day. (Ref 35/45982/18)
Fenside Road, Warboys – Police received a report of hare-coursers in a red Subaru operating on land near Fenside Road, Warboys, on Tuesday lunchtime, 20th November. Men and dogs were seen in the fields before they drove away. A police patrol searched the area and Countryside Watch was notified of the incident. (Ref CC-20112018-0191)
Flaxen Walk, Warboys – Thieves broke in to a white Vauxhall van whilst it was parked on Flaxen Walk, Warboys, on Thursday evening, 22nd November. A suspect was seen interfering with the back doors of the van before running off, and hand tools were found to have been taken from inside. (Ref 35/47219/18)
Mahaddie Way, Warboys – A white Transit van was broken into whilst it was parked in a lay-by on Mahaddie Way, Warboys, during the night of Thursday 22nd / Friday 23rd November. The thieves broke in by forcing the back doors and stole tools and electrical items. (Ref 35/47064/18)
School Road, Warboys – The front and rear number-plates of a silver Ford car were stolen during the night of Thursday 22nd / Friday 23rd November, whilst the car was left parked on School Road, Warboys. (Ref 35/47073/18)
A141 Warboys – Police checked the length of the A141 between Warboys and Chatteris following a report of three men with a lurcher-type dog and a grey or beige off-road vehicle hare-coursing in fields near the road. Countryside Watch was also notified but nothing suspicious was found. (Ref CC-23112018-0169)
