Second person charged in connection with series of shop burglaries

Dear Resident,

We're writing to inform you of a second arrest made as part of an investigation into a series of shop burglaries across Cambridgeshire and neighbouring counties.

The charges relate to incidents at:

Premier Express, Poringland, on 11 September

Co-op, Newnham, Cambridge, on 13 September

Budgens, Bluntisham, on 16 September

Kenninghall Stores, Norfolk, on 17 September

Bridge End Stores, Earith, on 23 September

Premier Store, St Ives, on 23 September (attempted burglary)

The man, from Liverpool, appeared before magistrates on 17 October charged with five counts of burglary, one count of attempted burglary and assault of an emergency worker. The case has been adjourned until next month.

A second person previously appeared before Huntingdon Magistrates' Court on 15 October and was remanded to appear at Cambridge Crown Court on 12 November.
