Fire engine blocked by cars parked obstructively |
||||
|
Dear Resident,
At around this time last Friday (9.40pm on 24 July), we were contacted by the fire service to report that they were on their way to respond to a fire in Thorney when their vehicles got stuck in Clarence Road, in Millfield, due to a number of cars parked obstructively.
This action shows why we put so much focus on illegal and obstructive parking as it ultimately puts people at risk as they were unable to swiftly respond to the incident.
Our PCSOs have been regularly patrolling Clarence Road when they can, issuing tickets to those parked incorrectly. These patrols will continue, both individually and in collaboration with Peterborough City Council's parking enforcement.
Next time you go to park on the road, consider whether an emergency vehicle would be able to safely get past. Please be mindful when parking your vehicle and use dedicated bays or car parks when possible.
Kind regards, | ||||
