Dear Resident,
For the first three months of this year your Peterborough Central Neighbourhood Policing Team have been busily working on their priorities.
Tackling street level drug dealing has been a key area of focus for the team. Work has included securing closure orders on multiple shops and a residential property believed to be linked to drug dealing and anti-social behaviour.
Officers have also made multiple drug-related arrests following stop searches and a warrant where 200 wraps of suspected class A drugs were located, as well as weapons.
Having a high visibility presence has also helped combat anti-social behaviour and street violence. The team have conducted more than 200 hours of patrols and issued 81 fixed-penalty notices for parking offences.
Officers have also been working closely with partner agencies about anti-social behaviour in the Century Square, Alma Road, Taverners Road and Ingleborough areas.
The third priority for the team was identifying opportunities for youth diversion away from crime. Officers have regularly engaged with Peterborough Wicketz and the Cambs Police Boxing Club, as well as identifying other youth engagement opportunities with Peterborough United and the police and army cadets.
Although considerable progress has been made in these areas, the team has decided to keep their priorities the same for April - June to continue this good work.
In June we will be holding a quarterly priority meeting where you can raise any ongoing concerns and help influence the issues the team focuses on. The date will be sent out via this email system – it’d be great to see you there.
