Dear Resident, Police are appealing for witnesses and trying to trace a car that failed to stop after a collision in Peterborough on Monday (8 December). Officers and paramedics were called to the mini-roundabout at the junction of Welland Road and Dogsthorpe Road, at about 3.15pm. A motorcyclist had been involved in a collision with a car, believed to be a blue Seat Leon, which failed to stop at the scene. The car officers are trying to find is believed to be a blue Seat Leon FR Estate with the registration DA17 YSP – and is thought to be in Peterborough area. It may have minor damage to the front of the vehicle due to the collision.
The motorcyclist involved in the crash, a 56-year-old man, from Walton, Peterborough, was taken to Peterborough City Hospital with serious injuries. DC Alex Bond said: “I am appealing to the driver involved in this collision to come forward or anyone who sees a car matching this description to contact us. “I would also like to hear from anyone who saw the collision, or has dashcam or CCTV footage of it, to get in touch.” Anyone with information or video footage should use reference Operation Sudbury and report it through the force website.
