One arrested for breaching hare coursing notice |
||||
Dear Resident,
On Friday afternoon, our Rural Crime Action Team (RCAT) responded to multiple reports of hare coursing across Ely, Littleport, and Manea.
The results? ✅They intercepted and seized the vehicle for being involved in this illegal activity ✅A 28-year-old man from Surrey was arrested for breaching a Community Protection Notice (CPN). He has been charged with the offence and is due to appear in court next month ✅Another four men were issued with notices preventing them from hare coursing in the East of England ✅One man was issued a community resolution for being in possession of cannabis
Hare coursing is an activity that devastates wildlife, damages farmland, and intimidates rural communities, and we remain committed to tackling the issue through robust action.
If you see any suspicious activity, report it to us immediately by calling 999 if a crime is in progress, or 101 for non-emergencies.
Kind regards, | ||||
