Dear Resident,
As we enter the last few months of 2025, catch up on what our policing teams have been up to throughout October!
Highlights from the last month: Our efforts to tackle hare coursing continue as our Rural Crime Action Team are actively seizing suspected vehicles and maintaining regular patrols throughout the county. We are committed to reducing anti-social behaviour in Ely City Centre, ensuring it remains a safe place for everyone. We are working closely with local businesses, residents, and partner agencies to identify problem areas and address ongoing concerns. Chief Constable, Simon Megicks, has been out on patrol in Ely alongside neighbourhood officer Joe, who showed him around the city and spoke to residents about their concerns. | |
Now time for some recent court results!
Our officers work tirelessly to bring offenders before the courts and ensure justice is served.
Here’s a few from this past month:
A drug dealer running the ‘Lucky’ line has been jailed for more than four years. Read more here.
A man has been jailed after leading police on a dangerous high-speed pursuit through East Cambridgeshire in the early hours of Sunday morning. You can watch the footage here.
Tips and tricks:
One of the main priorities of our East Cambridgeshire Neighbourhood team is tackling anti-social behaviour in Ely City Centre.
Antisocial behaviour takes many forms, from aggressive, noisy or abusive behaviour to neighbourhood disturbances involving drugs, abandoned cars or animals.
For more advice about anti-social behaviour and how to report it, head to our website.
This is just some of what we have been up to this month, we are always working to protect the public and being visible and approachable in the communities.
If you would like to share any concerns, why not pop along to one of our community events?
We regularly host a ‘Coffee with a Cop’ and ‘Police Surgeries’ to understand the issues that are impacting you. For more updates on our next event, head to our website. If you can’t make it to chat to us in person, report it online.
