Tickets issued during dedicated patrols |
||||
|
Dear Resident,
During their week of day shifts, our neighbourhood officers have issued around 15 tickets during dedicated patrols to tackle obstructive parking at hotspot locations including:
📍 Kingsfield Primary School in Chatteris 📍 Westwood Primary School in March 📍 Whittlesey town centre
While it may seem like a non-issue for most, obstructive parking, especially round schools, is an issue that is continually raised to us, and it is important to ensure that children and other pedestrians are safe.
Here is a reminder on what the different road markings mean:
✔️Zig zag markings mean that drivers are not allowed to park, overtake, or stop there to allow for junctions and crossings to remain clear. There will often be a sign nearby showing the times of when the restrictions are in place ✔️Single yellow lines indicate that no parking is allowed on the times outlined on nearby signs ✔️Double yellow lines mean no parking or waiting at all times, with the exception of blue badge holders (who can park for up to three hours) or those loading and unloading if there are no kerb markings or signs indicating additional restrictions
We will continue these patrols when we can – we can’t be everywhere, but we could be anywhere.
You can find out more about your local neighbourhood team’s priorities and the work they have been doing on our website.
Kind regards, | ||||
