Cannabis factory discovered in Alconbury Weston home

Dear Resident,

To most people, this looks like an ordinary home?

But take a closer look and you might notice covered windows, an unusual smell and persistent humming noises coming from the property.

These are all signs of a cannabis factory which vigilant members of the public reported to us.

As a result, yesterday afternoon we discovered four rooms in the property in Tanglewood, Alconbury Weston, housing cannabis plants.

We also found a 33-year-old man hiding in the loft who has since been arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis and remains in custody.

Thanks to information from the community, this illegal drug will no longer reach the streets.

Drug trafficking is a source of revenue for organised crime groups, many of whom are involved in other forms of serious crime and modern-day slavery.

We encourage people to look out for signs of illegal cannabis factories including blacked out windows, unusual smells and people coming and going at various times of the day.

Find out how to spot the other signs of drug dealing and cannabis factories on our website.

Kind Regards,

PC Chester Lewis
