Dear {FIRST NAME},
Welcome to the March edition of your neighbourhood policing newsletter.
Your Eastern Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) have had a student officer join them on a six-week attachment, and collectively they have had a very busy month responding to your concerns.
I’ve been really impressed with what I have seen from them all, as always, getting stuck into the work here, focusing on the current priorities as set by your feedback.
The team were successful in obtaining a closure order on 86 Lincoln Road in Millfield – a former military hospital – after it has sadly become a hub for anti-social behaviour including drug use, rough sleeping and criminal damage. You can read more about it on the news section of our website here.
During a retail crime week of action (Safer Business Action Days), while the team were visiting stores in the Maskew Avenue Retail Park, a prolific shoplifter was spotted leaving B&Q having stolen power tools which he’d hidden down his trousers! Being in the right place at the right time, the team swiftly arrested him with our student officer taking the lead on the interview and building the case to take to the CPS which resulted in him being charged and jailed.
The team have made numerous arrests for a whole range of offences include drug dealing and possession, theft, breaches of court orders, possession of weapons, assault and more. As well as taking part in community events including the Great British Spring Clean, International Women’s Day celebrations, community meetings across the sector and partnership meetings to discuss problem solving and joint working to tackle issues raised by our communities.
We are in the process of setting the new priorities for the coming quarter, which we will share with you in our next update later this month.
As always, please continue to report any concerns to us – the more information we have, the better equipped we are to tackle the issues that matter most to you.
Kind Regards, Inspector Sam Tucker
Current priorities for your east Peterborough Neighbourhood Policing Team Every three months we use a combination of our own data and your feedback via our community policing survey to set three priorities for each of our neighbourhood policing teams to focus on for the coming quarter.
Between January and March this year, your eastern Peterborough team have been prioritising:
What we’ve been up to across the east of Peterborough (in pictures!) You can find more like this on our Policing Peterborough Facebook page.
Crime prevention and useful information We are continuing to see thefts from vehicles across the district, with an increase throughout March – 50 reported offences across Peterborough compared to 33 during February.
Please remain vigilant and report any suspicious behaviour to us, even if you see someone trying car door handles – this is a crime!
Advice and information about how to best protect your vehicle from thieves can be found on our dedicated vehicle safety information webpages.
Court news You can find more articles like these in the news section of our website.
Can you help? We would like to hear from you if you’ve got any information about the below appeals.
CCTV appeal following assault in Peterborough We have released images of a man we want to speak with in connection with a serious assault at The Brewery Tap in Westgate on 1 March.
Man wanted in connection with assault We’re asking for help to locate Liam Monds who is wanted in connection with a serious assault on a woman.
Finally, your information helps us to understand the types of issues affecting you and your local community and informs our quarterly neighbourhood policing priorities. To have your say, please head to our community policing survey.
Please DO NOT use this form to report a crime – this should be done either via our website’s online reporting forms or webchat service, or by calling 101. Always dial 999 in an emergency.
